Who are our Therapists?

At TYHO, we have an excellent team of psychologists, counsellors, and psychotherapists. Our professionals offer high-quality services and use approaches such as DBT (dialectic behavioural therapy) to help you manage your emotions.

Psychologists at TYHO are also skilled in conducting psychological assessments. Feel free to reach out to our psychologists if you would like to receive a diagnosis.

TYHO counsellors and Therapists have similar qualifications and training. Hence, they can help with various issues such as clinical depression, borderline personality disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and anxiety disorders.

On the other hand, our Therapists in London can also help with regular daily problems such as relationship issues, lack of communication skills, difficulty labelling emotions, low self-esteem etc.

The most important thing to remember while choosing a Therapist is to find someone you truly feel comfortable with.

To do so, you can try a few therapy sessions with your shortlisted Therapist. If you don’t feel comfortable, you can look for someone else.

Finding the right professional may take longer for some people – but don’t give up. Creating and prioritising a good relationship with your Therapist will set the foundation of therapy.

Please reach out to us at [email protected] if you need help selecting a Therapist.

What is the definition of therapy?

Therapy is a space where you will engage in an open and structured conversation with a mental health expert such as a Therapist, counsellor, psychologist, or psychotherapist.

Most Therapists use talk therapy (also known as psychotherapy) to help you:

  • Manage your emotions
  • Improve your communication skills
  • Develop healthy habits
  • Change your negative or unhelpful thinking patterns
  • Better understand your life goals, beliefs, and values

Additionally, Therapists will also help you manage mental health disorders such as:

  • Depression
  • Social anxiety
  • Generalised anxiety disorder (GAD)
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Borderline personality disorder (BPD)
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
How long is each session?

Each therapy session at TYHO is for 60 minutes.

The duration of therapy applies to all types of services, such as individual counselling, couples counselling, and family counselling.

What are the types of counselling in London?

At TYHO, we provide individual, couples, and family counselling in London.

During individual counselling sessions, you will work with your Therapist to cope with personal and emotional issues such as low self-esteem, mood swings, anger issues, and grief.

To help you with the above issues, your Therapist may use tools from several therapy modalities like schema therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).

For example, your Therapist may teach you how to replace a negative thought that affects your life with a more practical and helpful belief.

Changing thoughts with the help of expert professionals is known as cognitive restructuring – a tool most used in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT)

During couples counselling, you will be talking to your Therapist along with your partner. Here, you and your partner can talk about problems you may be experiencing in your relationship.

The issues can include lack of communication, intimacy, arguments, and boredom in the relationship.

Through evidence-based approaches such as the Gottman Method, your couples counsellor in London will help you develop a healthier and stronger bond with your partner.

For example, your counsellor may use love maps to help you better understand your partner’s likes and dislikes, love languages (eg, preferring quality time or physical touch) and vice versa.

Family counselling may involve one or more members of your family to be present during therapy sessions.

Your counsellor will work with all the family members to improve bonds, resolve conflicts, and facilitate open and honest conversations.

Does TYHO provide online counselling in UK?

Yes, we provide online counselling in London, Manchester, and Birmingham.

We have Therapists who conduct both online audio and video sessions.

Be assured that online counselling in UK is just as effective as in-person counselling.

Both online and offline counselling have their unique set of advantages.

What matters most is which form of counselling helps you the best.

For example, you can attend a session from the comfort of your own room during online therapy.

Wearing casual clothes and being surrounded by a familiar environment may also ease your nervousness and help you open up more to your Therapist.
